Homework / Our Sessions

Please make sure that all of you have created their reading blog until Wednesday.

OUR SESSIONS
  • Fixed procedures:
    • Some kind of input by the teacher (time for questions / problems that concern the whole class
    • Share your homework in pairs, discuss your homework, ask questions and make suggestions for improvement for your partner’s homework.
    • Work: You do your work at home and in classes. You will have to organize your learning process since this will count into your mark.
    • Reading pace / speed: We will agree on a common speed, so that the discussion on the contents of the book can be followed by all and everybody. Reading is compulsory.
    • Your homework always is to comment at least on two blog entries of the others per week. Make sure you don’t always comment on the same people’s blogs.
    • Publish at the end of each lesson what you want to do for homework.
  • You will always find material such as dictionaries, books, secondary literature, a camera, sheets that help you with certain tasks… in the classroom. Feel free to use them and to browse the internet for interesting information on questions / tasks you work on, too.
  • You will find posters / ideas for your work in class and online at our common reading blog page.
  • During our lessons, you can work very freely on your reading blogs. Extensive reading should be done at home, though.
  • In case you work on a tasks in pairs or in a group (up to 4 pupils) you need to make sure you all have the written piece you’ve worked on in all your blogs (plus give the names of the other group members.)
  • The computer room has got only 13 computers. Therefore, sometimes you will not be able to work with the computer immediately. Since the creative writing and many other tasks can be done without computers, this should not be a problem. In this case: Don't forget to type your results later and post them. I want you to make sure that you agree fairly who works when on which computer. Since some tasks can be done in groups, there should rarely ever be problems.
  • We will have one session “together” every Friday. These sessions have the function of evaluating your work.
  • Make sure you always bring your book.
